Calista is one of Perth's best-kept secrets...

Kwinana suburb that is going through a rejuvenation. Calista is part of a rapidly growing region of Perth. Located next to Wellard, shortly after Cockburn Central, Calista is worth to look into when buying a house.

The Calista was one of the first ships to bring settlers to the Swan River Colony. She arrived with 73 passengers on 5 August 1829 under the command of Captain S. Hawkins. Two of the most notable passengers on the ship were Lionel and William Samson.

Calista location is one of the most convenient:

  • 30 minutes by car to the CBD,
  • 5 mins to Wellard Train Station,
  • 10 minutes to the beach,
  • 10 minutes to Rockingham Foreshore,
  • less than 5 mins to the big industries of Kwinana Industrial area,
  • 30 mins to Mandurah,
  • 25 mins to Fremantle and
  • 15-20 mins to Cockburn Central Shopping Centre.

"Calista is definitely the Mt Lawley of Kwinana (with reference to similar style quality homes, not nightlife obviously), people are nice and the suburb is very quiet and peaceful (apart from some renters near me with teenage kids who spend a lot of time cranking their hip hop music and giggling non-stop when the mum and dad aren't home but it is just whilst they are on school holidays, but my other neighbours are really cool). There is lots of nature and it is very green with Calista Oval nearby, the prestigious Golf Course and homes with beautiful established gardens." by Homely

There are about 100 schools in the immediate area...most of them you can walk to.

Buying home in Calista

Client's Review
Brought my first home in 2016 with 3 baby boys and my husband. After 4 years a new little member has joined our family making her the only girl out of the 4. Grateful that Calista is the place we can bring up our children.

Client's Review
If you ask me where to live, the first place I would recommend is Calista. Where I live there is a big park right next door which is perfect for my dog. For me the benefit of living in this beautiful area is great access to public transport to take me to and from work!!

Client's Review
Ive been renting a small house in Calista for the past 2 years. I moved here because its affordable and my parents live around the corner. At first i thought i wasn't going to be here for long but now i can see it being a long term home. Close to shops and schools which is a plus.

Client's Review
I brought my first home in Calista a month ago and absolutely adore it here. Only 10 minutes away from the beach, 30 minutes away from the CBD which also allows lots of access to bus stops and a train station, 30 minutes to mandarah and 20 minutes to Cockburn shopping centre. Living here is close to everything!! Also Kwinana shopping centre is right around the corner to do you weekly shopping. Would highly recommend Calista for somewhere to live.

Client's Review
Calista is awesome! I was a little bored when I first moved in.. but as time has passed I have found more and more to do.. the gyms great and outside nature is beautiful. I am now in my late 20's, single and did start looking around but have fallen in love with living in Calista. Such a beautiful, friendly neighbourhood.
